Issues of Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue (MILID) have gained importance for governments, communities and citizens. MILID WEEK is a space to promote contact and cooperation between international organizations, associations, NGOs, universities, media, research groups, researchers, teachers, and students from around the world working in media literacy and information and intercultural dialogue.
MILID WEEK is organized as follows:
- MILID DEBATES: A space for discussion and exchange of present and future experiences about media and information literacy and intercultural dialogue. It will take place from May 24 to the 25th. This space is open for all registered attendees.
- MILID RESEARCH: A space for prominent research. Experiences, initiatives, projects and research results will be presented from May 24 to the 25th. This space is open for all registered attendees.
- MILID PARTNERS MEETING: UNITWIN Cooperation Programme on Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue Annual Meeting. This meeting will take place on May 22 and will be restricted to the UNITWIN network members.
MAIN GOALS:
· To raise awareness and To spread throughout the world the main initiatives on media and information literacy and intercultural dialogue.
· To promote cooperation and partnership among key players in MILID.
· To undertake new initiatives of international scope.
· To publicize and disseminate the state of the research on MILID.
· The development of new ideas and strategies about MILID.
Who promotes and organizes MILID WEEK?
MILID WEEK is organized by the Communication and Education Cabinet of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain) in collaboration with MENTOR (International Association on Media Education).
